Ageless Radial Engines

Field Service Note  # 3

Static Electricity

Occasionally, depending on the humidity of the day, you may see a static charge develop on the engine. This is often apparent when using a metal screw driver to adjust the carburetor during running.

This is caused by the spinning wood cooling club passing through the air.  A simple solution is to provide an earth ground to the engine frame. This will draw off the static charge.
